WEARING A PROTECTIVE HELMET COMPLIANT WITH STANDARDS IS MANDATORY
Electric bicycle equipment must comply with the Automobile Insurance Act and the Highway Safety Code, among other things with regard to reflectors. The electric bicycle must have the label affixed by the manufacturer.
In the event of an accident
Injuries sustained in an accident with an electric bicycle (or a bicycle or a tricycle equipped with a motor) are not covered by the public automobile insurance plan, except when this accident involves a moving vehicle covered by the diet.
Minimum age to ride an electric bike
To be able to drive an electric bicycle, you must be 14 years of age or older. FROM 14 TO 17 YEARS: It is compulsory to have at least a class 6D license authorizing the driving of a moped. 18 YEARS OR OLDER: No license required
